About us

Oma Welfare Foundation (OWF) is a Nigerian based Non-Profit Organization, incorporated in 2009 and has been promoting transformative educational and cultural development since 2010 to people no matter their class, race or religion.

We focus especially on the human formation of those we work with, be they students, professionals, youth or adults. We organize short courses and programs, as well as develop youth centres and university residences.

We provide scholarships for deserving indigent students, and seek other ways to help them.

PROJECTS AND PROGRAMMES

We include below a selection of projects and programmes supported by OWF.

UGWUOMA STUDY CENTRE is a purpose built facility equipped with Seminar Rooms, Meeting Rooms, a Library and other facilities conducive to the educational activities that take place there. It also has a modicum of accommodation facilities for small groups and facilitators of the organized programmes. Read more about Ugwuoma here.

SUPPORT FOR UHERE STUDY CENTRE

Uhere Study Centre is located in Nsukka, Nigeria and shares boundary with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Since inception, it has been a haven of peace and encouragement to studious students of the prestigious university. There, they have a library, classrooms, seminar rooms, sports court and other facilities. OWF supports by giving yearly grants to subsidize the cost of running the Centre, thus making it more accessible to University students and the youth studying in Nsukka or attending educational activities there.

SUPPORT FOR HILLPOINT UNIVERSITY CENTRE

University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC) is located in Enugu City, and so also is the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu State University of Technology and a myriad of Secondary Schools and other institutions. Hillpoint exists to provide co-curricular activities programmes to enhance the educational experience of students in the southern part of Enugu City. We support by providing sponsorships for some of the programmes organized by Hillpoint.

EKULU STUDY CENTRE

After studying the demographics of Enugu City, we came to realize that there are many young families in the Trans-Ekulu suburb of Enugu City and there are lots of young people that fall behind in their studies simply due to lack of good orientation and support. Ekulu Study Centre, located in Trans-Ekulu, Enugu, is an initiative of OWF that seeks to collaborate with families, especially young parents, in the formation of their children. It has facilities and programmes tailored to these needs, although the centre currently runs in a rented premises. We are already looking forward to when we can have larger and better/customized facilities, so that we can do a lot more.

“The youth are the future of any nation.”

STUDENTS CAMPS, WORKSHOPS AND CONFERENCES

OWF has also asisted with sponsorships and technical support to different activities organized specifically for the formation of students of tertiary institutions, especially in the easter region of Nigeria.

christian principles

We further provide donor-specific sponsorships for retreats and activities organized for Roman Catholic Priests and their collaborators, as OWF believes and operates on Catholic principles of social solidarity and responsible citizenship.
